Our Program
Welcome to WHGL! Our town lacrosse program runs during the spring season and offers opportunities for all skill levels.
Instructional
Grades: 1st and 2nd house league
Focus: Introduction to fundamental skills of lacrosse such as cradling, ground balls, passing and shooting
Practices: 1x a week from mid/late April to early June at Duffy Elementary School
Games: Saturday mornings at Duffy Elementary School. Games are 7 v 7 on a smaller field, without a goal keeper. Scores are not recorded, but games are officiated by our 8th and 9th grade referees.
WHGL Jamboree in early June
Bantam
Grades: 3rd and 4th house league
Focus: Team play and skill development
Practice: 1x or 2x a week from mid April to early June at Duffy Elementary School.
Games: 1x weekend; 8 v 8 (including a goalie) on the smaller field. Scores are kept and games are officiated. 3 pass rule is mandated.
WHGL Jamboree in early June
Junior
Grades: 5th and 6th, new and experienced
Teams: This is a travel division and player placement is determined by skill, commitment and experience.
Practices: 2x week at Hall High School
Games: All teams play on a full field with 12 players (including a goalie) and modified checking.
Weekly practice and game commitments will vary based on team.
Tournaments, jamborees, clinics, and post season play are expected.
Senior
Grades: 7th and 8th, new and experienced.
Teams: This is a travel division and player placement is determined by skill, commitment and experience.
Practices: 2x a week at Hall High School
Games: All teams play on a full field with 12 players (including a goalie) and transitional checking is introduced, and in some circumstances, full checking is allowed.
Weekly practice and game commitments will vary based on team.
Tournaments, jamborees, clinics and post season play are expected.
